Free tool for open-source maintainers

Stop asking "which version?" Build an issue form that asks for you.

Pick the fields your project needs. The builder writes a GitHub issue form with required fields, plus a config.yml that turns off blank issues. It runs in your browser.

GitHub Issue Form Builder

Testing that understands your codebase.

  • Writes .github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/bug_report.yml in GitHub's issue form syntax: markdown, inputs, textareas and checkboxes.
  • Makes version, steps to reproduce, expected and actual required, so in a public repo the form can't be submitted without them.
  • Optional config.yml turns off blank issues and sends questions to your discussions or chat.
  • Unlock a download of both files plus five polite reply templates for issues that still arrive incomplete.

Built from GitHub's documented issue form syntax (docs.github.com, checked Oct 23 2026). Preview the form on GitHub before you rely on it. GitHub only enforces required fields in public repositories, and labels that don't already exist in your repo are not added. Everything you type stays in this browser tab.

GoodQA

GoodQA can export enriched bugs to GitHub Issues, one way, when you want them there.

The GoodQA GitHub App makes no repo writes by default. Fix Studio's AI-drafted fix PRs are off by default and only run if your organization turns them on.

In GoodQA, failing a test step opens a composer that prefills repro steps, environment, and expected vs actual.

The GoodQA Chrome extension captures screenshots and recordings with console and network context.

FAQ

Is the YAML valid?

It follows GitHub's issue form syntax as documented today. GitHub can change that syntax, so open a test issue after you commit the files and check the form renders. GitHub only enforces required fields in public repositories.

Do I have to leave GitHub Issues?

No. The form lives in your repo and works with GitHub Issues as it is. If you try GoodQA later, it exports enriched bugs to GitHub Issues one way, so GitHub stays your home.

Can outside contributors report bugs through GoodQA?

That flow isn't confirmed yet, so we won't promise it here. Today a maintainer can capture an enriched bug in GoodQA and export it to GitHub Issues.

Is there an open-source program or discount?

None has been announced. You can create an account with no credit card. Paid plans are not open yet, and prices are not published.

Does anything I type get uploaded?

No. The files are built in your browser. If you unlock them, we save your name, email and a short summary of your settings only.
